Tips for Gut Health and why Hypnotherapy works for Gut Health

Stress is a major factor in IBS, a bloated tummy and poor digestion.

Hypnotherapy is a treatment where we pause and tap into our subconscious mind, and in this deep state of flow or pause we get to lower our fight and flight response whilst processing ideas and thoughts in a completely new way that we never thought of before.

Have you ever had a pressing problem and you went to do something that puts you in a flow state, and there you came up with new ideas for solutions very easily?  You then found that when you returned to a state of rushing and multi-tasking that the solutions arose nowhere near as easily.  This is one of the ways I (hopefully) help my clients to understand  hypnosis.

When you feel poor gut health symptoms coming on – it may not seem like it, but it is your body doing the best that it can to put you first.  The fight and fight response creates adrenaline, necessary to flee from danger.  These days there is less reason to flee from imminent danger at any moment, but during our earliest evolution phases there were more wild animals about peering from their hiding places.

The body doesn’t want us to recall that we haven’t eaten for a while since it’s not important when great danger is presented to us.  So instead of the energy coming from food to escape from danger, our system uses adrenaline and other fight and flight hormones.

When we are in fight and flight too often, the body, according to clinical research, doesn’t have the resources to digest food properly.  Digestion requires a different nervous system to do its job properly, and Dr Libby Weaver in her book “Rushing Woman’s Syndrome” calls this the “rest and digest” nervous system.

An effective and sensitive hypnotherapist can help you to alleviate gut health issues and the effects on our lives.

Here are some tips:

We can ask ourselves:  “Do I honour my gut feelings?” Some call this intuition, or emotional response.

“What area do I need to focus on in my life?”

“How do I eat, move, drink, breathe, sleep and perceive?”

You are not your past, not your stories, and most of the things in your past can no longer hurt you.

Did the problem begin as antibiotic use, stress or infection?  Asking this question may be the route forward to quelling this problem.

Fully feel that you are precious.  You are wonderful, and you are loved.  If it feels difficult to love yourself book here for a hypnotherapy session with Natasha now.
